Crystal Palace Hotel
Situated by the lakeside and close to the Friendship Store is the Crystal Palace Hotel (Shuijingong fandian), one of the better top end hotels. It is a four star, Sino-American venture (not related to the British soccer club) that provides comfort and good views to the passing businessman or traveler. The only bad side of this hotel is that it is a little far from the main sights, but not exceptionally so.
There are a total of 346 rooms and suites here, including apartments and offices. All rooms are available with satellite TV, minibar, IDD telephone, air-conditioning and 24 hour room service. For recreation the Crystal Palace has a good health club with a massage and sauna center, a fully equipped gymnasium and a tennis court. There is also a swimming pool and a supermarket, and the business center provides secretarial and communication services.
Where the hotel excels is in its restaurants, which serve a good mixture of Chinese and Western cuisine. The Crysrock Bar is probably the most interesting, providing a mixture of traditional American foods, relaxed surroundings, live entertainment and dancing while for a lakeview the food terrace is a must. Further range of food includes Swiss, French, and Venice styles.
