Friendship Hotel
The Tianjin Friendship Hotel (Tianjin youyi binguan) is located in the commercial center of Tianjin, a little way south of the main sights. It is an international three star of decent standard, within easy walking distance of the earthquake memorial and, unfortunately, within easy sight of the more industrial southern district of Tianjin.
The rooms here are, however, of acceptable quality, all 274 of them equipped with in-house movies, air-conditioning, satellite TV, IDD telephone and minibar. The rooms range from standard rooms to deluxe suites, with an executive floor of decent, and more expensive, suites.
The hotel is a good place for the business guest, providing secretarial service and business information as well as ticket reservation services. Further facilities include a beauty salon, a gymnasium and a department store.
The Chinese Restaurant here provides Sichuan, Fujian and Cantonese cuisine. The Western Restaurant has British, French and Russian style dishes. There is also a Sino-Japanese joint venture restaurant, the “Dounaimu Bar”, and a Sino-Korea Joint Venture, the “Seoul Bar”.
