The New Asia Hotel (Xinya Dajiudian) was built in 1943. This is a nine storey mansion and was the first hotel in Shanghai which was funded, designed, built and managed by Chinese people. The hotel was renovated in 1991, retaining its original look, but improving its facilities and changing its interior decor.

This Shanghai hotel is about 18km from the Hongqiao Airport and 3km from the railway station. There are 353 guestrooms and suites here, equipped with air-conditioning, satellite television, IDD telephones and mini bars.

Within the New Asia Hotel, there is a post office, a ticket reservation office, a billiards room, a sauna, a dancing hall, karaoke and a gymnasium. The hotel business center can provide you with a fax, typing service, photocopying and access to various meeting rooms.

There are three main restaurants in the New Asia Hotel that serve a mix of cuisine. The White Clouds Hall provides Cantonese food, the Sea Clouds Hall provides Shanghai style cuisine, and the French Restaurant serves “western” food.
